A pub with Je ne sais quoi!
Stylishly decorated with antiques and salvaged furniture, The Lion Public House is an eclectic mix.
The bar is pure French theatre – black bar top adorned by tall chrome taps dispensing a good selection of real ales (largely from local award winning breweries) and great quality wine on draught.
If you prefer to hear the whoosh of a cork leaving the bottle, we have an impressive wine wall from which to choose.
When the weather permits – we are delighted to serve lunch on our lovely piazza style terrace.
Located between The Inn and The House, this area is awash with sunshine, adorned with flowers and bordered by pleached lime trees – you can almost imagine you are nearer Provence than Chelmsford!
Celebrating a special occasion? Our private dining room is reminiscent of a grand hall but in smaller scale having a beamed and vaulted ceiling together with a feature fireplace seating from 20 to 40 people, depending upon table layout.
If you have a slightly larger party of 50 – 60 people, our conservatory is available for private hire. A restricted a la carte menu only is available in these rooms. Please contact us for further details.
